Start with a clean SketchUp scene, generate and approve a still, then use that image to create a short AI video. The plugin handles model capture; Maquete’s video workflow generates the clip from the image. Budget separately for preparation, generation, corrections and client review. There is no fixed end-to-end time that fits every project.
1. Prepare the scene
Save a named camera view at a plausible height and check the model for missing surfaces, accidental objects and unclear material boundaries. Include the design elements that must appear in the presentation. Placeholders can guide composition but do not guarantee the final furniture or geometry.
Use the current SketchUp plugin download. The direct release and Extension Warehouse listing may have different versions. Check the supported SketchUp version and operating system before installing.
2. Capture and render
Capture the viewport, choose the appropriate rendering workflow and set the lighting and material guidance. Use concise descriptions of important finishes and attach a reference where the workflow supports it. Keep the same source view when comparing variations.
Typical still generation is about 30 seconds, but it varies with settings, service load and the operation. A standard 2K still uses 1 credit; a 4K still uses 2. Check the displayed price and plan access before generating.
3. Approve the still
Compare openings, fixed furniture, wall junctions and material zones with the source. Choose a visual direction, then make focused corrections. Use Adjust for an incorrect detail or 2× Enhance for an already-approved image, as appropriate. Do not promise a client that a local edit preserves every other pixel.
Review the complete image after each correction. Keep the baseline if an edit introduces a larger problem. If the underlying design changes, update SketchUp and capture a new source.
4. Generate the video
Open the video workflow for your chosen image and select the motion and duration controls available there. A 5-second AI video uses 4 credits; a 10-second video uses 8 credits. Waiting time varies; the duration is the length of the output clip, not how long it takes to generate.
Start with restrained motion that suits the composition. The system infers areas that were not visible in the still, so a large move can reveal invented or inconsistent details. This is image-to-video generation, not a recorded navigation through your original 3D model.

5. Review and share
Watch at normal speed, then pause at the beginning, midpoint and end. Check furniture counts, windows, reflections and edges for changes. Download the approved video and keep it with the corresponding still and design revision.
Use the project sharing workflow for the intended client material. Open the share link before sending and check the included files. Give the client one clear review question and retain the source model as the reference for dimensions and technical decisions.

For a simple credit example, one standard 2K still plus one 5-second AI video uses 5 credits before any paid corrections or additional attempts. That is an operation-cost example, not a promise that the first attempt will be approved.
When is a panorama a better choice?
Use a 360° panorama when the client should choose where to look from a fixed position. A panorama uses the surroundings captured from SketchUp, not just the approved still. Follow the panorama setup guide and compare the two presentation formats.
Can I use this for a measured walkthrough?
Use a model-based workflow when exact camera paths, dimensions or unrestricted navigation are required. AI video communicates atmosphere and a directed view; it does not replace the model.
