Maquete Tours

How to create a virtual tour from panoramas

A useful architectural tour starts with deliberate camera positions. Generate a panorama at each position, then connect the completed panoramas in Maquete. You decide which rooms lead to each other; the tool does not infer the layout.

From viewpoints to a client-ready tour

  1. 1

    Prepare your viewpoints

In SketchUp, choose a clear camera position in each room and create a panorama with Maquete’s plugin. Keep camera height and design references consistent. Wait until each panorama is complete.

  2. 2

Select a project and its panoramas

Open Panorama in the Studio and choose Create tour. Select the project, choose completed panoramas and name the viewpoints. The starting viewpoint controls where the tour opens.

  3. 3

    Connect the rooms

Select a viewpoint and choose Connect rooms. Choose the destination, place the navigation arrow in the scene, then add the return arrow. Use visible doorways or circulation routes so visitors understand the connection.

  4. 4

    Review and publish

Preview every room and follow every arrow in both directions. Check the opening views, then confirm the review and publish. Wait for publication to finish before copying the share link or embed code.

Check the design across every room

Each panorama is generated independently. Compare doors, materials, furniture, lighting and room connections against the source model before sharing. Connected viewpoints do not guarantee consistency between generated images. Maquete Tours currently has no free movement, measurement tool or 3D dollhouse view.

Current limits: 20 viewpoints per tour, 20 hotspots per viewpoint and 10 tours per project.

Questions about Maquete Tours

Which plans include tour creation?

Project owners on Pro, Studio and Business can create and publish tours. Visitors can open an active published link without a Maquete account.

Can I use ordinary renders or panoramas from my computer?

The tour picker currently uses completed Maquete panoramas in your project. An ordinary perspective render is not a full 360° panorama. Direct import of external panorama files into the tour builder is not currently supported.

Does clicking an arrow mean I can walk freely?

An arrow changes to the connected panorama position. You can look around from there, but there is no continuous free movement between positions.

Who can see a published tour?

Anyone with the active unlisted link can view it. Drafts stay private. Disable sharing to make the old link inaccessible; publishing edits updates the active tour link.
